11th December 2012 : Blackest Day of my Life

Yes, I am disappointed, frustrated, angry, irate and mad at the same time. I am strong guy so I can't really cry. Today at 6:45 am, I checked my cell phone and logged into gmail. This one message from University of Houston flashed and crashed my life. I was shell shocked. The message said that I cannot get the I-20 for my summer intake just because my file was showing my status as J-1.

Two points here :
1. I went to Houston for an internship in 2010. The best 23 days of my life.
2. Due to this, my status became J-1 and immigration people forgot to update my file in 2012. I applied to the same University in 2012 and result : They are confused.

Hell, when you don't update the file, you will be confused. This sheer lack of stupidity meant that they are not sure whether I should be given I20. I fulfill their section 212(E) requirement. I make every preparation for loan documents to be sanctioned in I20. Now what happens ? They send me a mail that I can't be part of the petroleum engineering program because of a man's mistake who is sitting a thousand miles away.

My soul knows that the only thing I ever wanted from my life was to go to UH. I had sketched so many dreams. Damn it, I worked damn hard for giving my GRE. Who works for nine hours ? Then spends two hours in the gym ? Then studies 3 hours straight ? I did that. For one dream.

I don't want to go to any ivy-league university. I want only UH. Now, I want to know if I anybody is in my position... does he start to believe in horoscopes ... in grahas .. in hindu stuff. I don't know I think my spirit is broken. I wish I could take this situation and just move on. I can't man. I can't .

Dream Matches

WWE list of my dream matches that never happened.

1. HBK v/s The Rock

A match that pitted two headliners against each other. On one side The People's Champ and on other side the heartthrob of millions. The epic match transcends generations with icons who were as hot as any superstar in their respective eras.

2. Hogan v/s Austin

The Hulkster will face the ultimate bad ass of WWE. Being an Austin fan, I wish he would win. Nevertheless, Hogan and Austin would be a treat for the audience with both skilled in ground and pound style of wrestling.

3. Lesnar v/s Orton

Orton's punt versus Lesnar's Kimura lock. Its a match that can unravel a sadistic side of both these wrestlers.  The Beast has the size advantage and Viper has the quickness. It is a mouth-watering clash of future WWE Hall of Famers.

4. Undertaker v/s Stone Cold @ Wrestlemania

The best entertainers in the WWE handsdown never got a match at Wrestlemania. If Taker decides to participate in #OneMoreMatch at Wrestlemania, it must be with Stone Cold. The nostalgia will be immense as Attitude Era will be relived.

5. Batista v/s Lesnar

Two superheavyweights who ruled the WWE during their times can burn the mat. This would be a physical altercation, not for the weaker heart. In the eyes of the WWE Universe, two rabid bulls will lock horns.

6. Kurt Angle v/s Daniel Bryan

Technical wrestlers who can legitimately put up a great show for fans. With fast moves and super fan following , the Yes,No and You Suck chants can all be heard in a single match.*Treat*

7. Undertaker v/s Andre the Giant

Two evergreen giants of wrestling. With Taker immortalised with his 20-0 streak, Andre was the one who popularized wrestling in the 80's. I would die to see them fighting in heavens.

 8. Goldberg v/s Cena

Men with massive physiques, both compliment their in-ring fighting techniques. Both of them are not express wrestlers and build their matches on their physical prowess. Cena's AA v/s Goldberg's Jackhammer. Anyway it turns out, it will catch many eyeballs.

9. Trish Stratus v/s Sable

What is a WWE Event without the puppies. Sable and Stratus are both former champions and must have been put in a match. Somehow, WWE missed a huge point here.

10. Ryback v/s Brock Lesnar

Eventually, Ryback will face Lesnar if The Beast sticks around for a couple of years more. Considering the amount of muscle involved in such a fight, fans would love to see these powerful athletes.

Speech

Water Energy Human Resources
Good morning honorable teachers and my dear friends, today’s discussion will be associated with water energy and human resources. Essentially, there are two types of energy that the modern world uses to do its daily chores: Renewable and Non-renewable energy. Renewable energy can be sustained for long periods of time while non renewable energy sources like coal and petroleum are perishable and polluting. One of the most important types of renewable energy is Hydro-electricity i.e. electricity generated by flowing or falling water. It is currently contributing to 16 % of global electricity consumption with 3,427 terawatt hours of electricity production. It is produced in 150 countries. Can anybody tell me the largest producer of hydropower? Yes, its China, producing more than 5 percent of world energy using water.
Energy from water can be produced by building turbines in a dam in a river or by making barrages across the mouth of a river. The major advantage of using this energy source is that it uses less manpower and does not create any pollution. Hydroelectric power stations can run for long periods of time with relatively low maintenance costs. The efficiency of this mode of power generation is around 90% along with zero chemical waste.
These days, floods are proving to be menacing, taking many lives along with it. By constructing hydropower stations one can provide considerable flood protection to downstream areas. It can also be used to breed fish and other aquatic species. The lakes formed due to dam construction can be useful for recreational activities. Since, the water is stored in a reservoir, whenever the power demand is high, dam’s gates can be opened to produce more power. Therefore, it can easily meet the power supply-demands.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages of employing hydropower. The major hindrance is the high investment costs incurred in such a project. Apart from construction costs, it can change river or stream quality, thereby disrupting the marine life and surrounding ecosystems. Since, not every river is compatible for building a dam; hydropower stations are not completely safe for humans. Another big drawback is the threat of ‘flash floods’. If a dam breaks, surrounding areas get flooded in no time causing fatalities.
The building of large dams can cause serious geological damage. For example, the building of Hoover dam in the USA triggered a number of earthquakes. It can also cause altering in water table. A prime example is the Aswan Dam in Egypt where salts and destructive minerals got deposited in the stone work as a direct result of changing water level underground.
There are many advantages and disadvantages of using water energy as I said. But, one of the most burning questions that youth faces today is: “How can we fulfill our energy needs if coal and petroleum run-out?” Is the answer Water energy? Well, only time will tell. Thank you.

Work-a-holic ME

The last few months of my life have been really satisfying not only from the perspective of a great social circle but also because of having a nice time at work. The amount of time spent at work has been gratifying because when work is fun, work is enjoyable to say the least. The bay in which I work has a perfect blend of competition and friendship. The competition drives us to do better each passing day and friendly banters always keep the environment jovial. Its been a six month journey in Accenture and to be honest its been a roller coaster ride. A great day at office to me means a great heavy breakfast at canteen(i can't resist food) , chat with friends over lunch(with mention of girls atleast once) and pure manual work(which i still enjoy, dunno why, but i do). All in all , i have had a cool time here. Must say, Hyderabad has treated me well.
